Adult learners at Waltham Forest Adult Skills Centre CIC

Waltham Forest Adult Skills Centre CIC

About Our Centre

A community interest company delivering accessible, practical learning for adults aged 19 and over.

Our story

Community learning built around the people of Waltham Forest.

Waltham Forest Adult Skills Centre CIC was founded to answer a need our team saw every week in the borough: adults who wanted to learn but could not find provision that fitted around work, family, language or confidence. We began with small community classes in essential English, maths and digital skills, run in venues residents already trusted.

From those first sessions, provision has grown across Leytonstone, Walthamstow and Chingford, developed alongside local charities, housing providers, employers and community groups. Today we support unemployed adults, people who are digitally excluded, residents new to the UK and learners returning to study after many years away — helping them gain recognised qualifications, use online services independently and move into work or further learning.

Our next step is to widen accredited provision, deepen employer partnerships and extend digital inclusion work to more residents across the borough.
